Andrew Minion
Well, it’s been a long time since I posted anything, and for good reason! I started my internship here at Calvary Baptist Church in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania three weeks ago today. The first two weeks we have been preparing for EVBT (Evening Vacation Bible Time), missions trip (next week), and Camp Calvary (two weeks after that).
This last week has been great: we ran our own program, with a safari theme. Below are some pictures from the week. Steve Hinebaugh (the other intern) and I took the church van to another suburb to pick up between 8 and 10 kids each night. We were blessed to see three of them make professions of faith on Thursday night, as well as other children.
I was Amazon Andy for the week, although I insisted that “Amazon” is pronounced with a long “A” in the middle. I was from the NRAM (National Registry of Absent Minds), based out of Buffalo Chip, TN. “Sir Stefan” Safari Steve was from NIDA (National Intelligence Deficit Agency), from Mousedrop, SC. C. Edgar Roeben was with the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), and Pastor Martin was with CEVBT (Calvary EVBT). Over the course of the week, we discovered a treasure map by mean of “hard” riddles that of course needed the kid’s help to decipher. Then R. Caruso stole the map from us!! Eventually, we did find the treasure, and deciphered the combination from a paper that R. Caruso dropped when he stole the treasure. On Friday evening, he gave the treasure back because he was under conviction about stealing it. We opened the treasure box to find a wordless book, and learned that salvation is the greatest treasure there is—greater than gold or silver or jewels or anything.
Next week, we will be going to Good Samaritan Inn in Richmond, VA, with some teens from Calvary for a missions trip. We’ll be painting stairways and cleaning and anything else that they ask us to do.
Holly and I have been making some progress on the plans for our wedding next May. Head over to andrewandhollyminion.blogspot.com to keep up with our plans. You can also go to http://www.theknot.com/ourwedding/HollySkinner&AndrewMinion for our “official” wedding website.

Wow! Umm, Andrew, those safari clothes are...very interesting. I have to admit, I never would have imagined you wearing something like that! :P

I hate to be the one to bring this up, but I think the name is great.
