This site had previously been designed by Doug Neiner. Mr. Moore hired me to take the existing site and modify it, add tabs and more pages, and overall improve the site. It uses a MySQL database for the itinerary, and has the automatic sermon feature included on several other websites. I maintain this site for Mr. Moore on a somewhat regular basis, mostly keeping his itinerary up-to-date.

My own website, intended mainly for friends and family to keep up with what’s going on in my life. It also showcases several of my past and current projects. The news and photos pages are based on a MySQL database for easy administration, as well as this portfolio page. Obviously, I maintain this site, although on a somewhat irregular basis.

One of my first major projects, this was my job during my sophomore year of college. Matt Northcutt and I built this site from scratch. The schedules, itineraries, calendar, and news items are in a MySQL database for easy access, and for automatic RSS feed creation. The sermon page and podcast are built to automatically update when a file is uploaded to the server. It also has a custom-built 404 error page, apologizing when a user can’t find something on the site, and offering suggestions of where to look; it also notifies me if it was caused by an error on our site. I regularly update and maintain this site.

Victory Baptist Ministries wanted a website for their church and school that they could easily update. This site includes a customizable “sliding banner” on the home page, a list of missionaries with the option to feature them on the home page during different months, a Google calendar, a sermon page and podcast that automatically update when an MP3 is uploaded to the server, a photos page that automatically adds albums when photos are uploaded, and static pages that can be easily updated. The photo albums area extremely easy to update—upload a folder of photos and run the install script, and the photo album is ready to go. Other features include a calendar integrated with Google Calendar, so church staff can easily edit and update it, and an automatic sermon page, so church staff can upload a sermon and the site will automatically display it. The whole site is managed with the PageLime CMS, so church staff don’t need to know HTML code to update static parts of the site.
I did the initial setup on this site, but the church staff maintains the site; I’m not directly responsible for how the site may appear at the present time.

I did my internship at Calvary Baptist Church, and this site was my last major project of the summer. I did the design myself in Photoshop CS4, based off of previous sites. The code was based off of previous sites as well, but I wrote a two-tier access system for member logon, as well as a GUI for church staff to manage the members. Basically, visitors get the lowest level of access, allowing them to see photos. Church members have access to the photos as well as schedules and other church documents. It also includes a password reset and forgot password functionality. Church staff can easily change a member’s status.

This site was designed by my Dad, using iWeb, and I converted the design to a more standards-compliant, smaller-size code base. It features a blog, fed by a MySQL database, with an automatic RSS feed, and an online registration system integrated with PayPal to register campers. It sends an email to the staff member responsible for registrations, and they can download the latest registration, or the whole database. The site will soon include a forum built on phpBB. I occasionally help with updates on this site, mostly with coding questions and problems.

This site was designed by Matt Northcutt, and I did all the coding. It is set up so the church staff can easily update common areas of the site. It includes a calendar updated by means of iCal or Mozilla Sunbird, with an RSS feed of upcoming calendar items. The navigation system is based on tabs, rather than a drop-down menu system. As usual, it includes an automatic sermons page, so church staff can upload MP3 files and they automatically appear on the sermon page and the podcast. The photos page is set up for easy updating, allowing staff to upload a folder of photos, run an install script, and be finished with the photo album. The church staff, missionaries, and Sunday School staff pages are in the MySQL database, allowing easy access to change the information without needing to know HTML and CSS code.
Again, I set up the site initially, but church staff are now responsible for the maintenance, so it appears different than when I finished the project.

This church is a church plaint in Charlotte, NC, begun by Pastor Johnston and several other students from Ambassador Baptist College. I basically took the site template from Matt Northcutt’s site and modified the graphics and information. I keep this site up to date when there is new information.

This project was a survey for auto customers. One eTeam supplied the design, and I wrote the code. The site allows end users to select the salesman they had dealings with, and answer a few simple questions. In return for their time, the site would email customers coupons, and enter the data into a database. Dealership staff can log in and see the results as interactive graphs, allowing them to view results globally, by salesman, and/or by date range. It is not yet in production because of changes at the dealership, but it was fun to work on.

Matt Northcutt and I worked together on this site (obviously!). It includes a news feed and calendar based on MySQL, with an automatic RSS feed from the news list. It includes doctrinal information, recommendations, and the Northcutts’ slideshow presentation. The prayer letters section automatically updates when Matt uploads a new prayer letter, making it easy and simple to keep up. There is a function to allow guests to sign up for email updates, and Matt can log in to his own website and send emails to everyone on the mailing list.

This site is based off of Matt Northcutt’s site, with minor functionality differences. The missionaries are in a MySQL database, and their photos will automatically appear if available, and will not generate an error if not available. It includes a news feed that automatically generates an RSS feed, as well as automatic prayer letter updates similar to Matt’s site—the PNBM staff upload a prayer letter and it automatically appears on that missionary’s page.

I built this site as part of Ambassador’s site, during my sophomore year of college. Again, Matt Northcutt collaborated to design and build this site. It is based entirely off of a MySQL database, with fields for categories and subcategories, so it can easily be navigated. It integrates with the Mal’s E-Commerce system to allow secure purchases online. The ABC Bookstore site also has functionality to include 30-second clips of CD tracks for purchasers to preview.

This site is the first of the Aletheia Project sites. It is based heavily on a MySQL database, with PHP programming to pull all the info from the database. The text of the entire Bible is in the database, allowing users to select verses, chapters, or books at a time to display. It also includes a search feature, allowing users to search for words or phrases in the text, and displaying the results with custom sorting and context options. I set this site up as a template that could easily be localized to another language as we get the Bible text for each language. It also includes lists of missionaries and discipleship literature. It was a challenge and a lot of fun to work on the back-end programming.

This was my first “real” work project. John O’Malley asked me to consider working on the mission’s website. At that time, I had only worked on the simple Aletheia Project website. I took the challenge, and learned a whole lot about dynamic scripting in PHP, MySQL, image functions, HTML, and CSS. The site is based heavily on a MySQL database for the missionaries and pages, and allows office staff to simply upload prayer letters to automatically display on missionaries’ pages, as well as in an automatic prayer letter RSS feed. It has many of the features that have become standard on my websites. The WWNTBM office staff keeps this site updated, and I help very occasionally with some special question.

My first website, this was a great opportunity to learn basic HTML and CSS code and procedures. It’s simply a small static site with about eight pages of information on The Aletheia Project, a student project at Ambassador Baptist College. The purpose of the group is to put the Word of God on the internet.
